Washington Head Coach Accepts Blame for Keeping Jayden Daniels in Contest Before Significant Injury

The Commanders head coach Dan Quinn has admitted he shares some the fault for a major ailment to the squad’s signal-caller, Jayden Daniels.

Details of the Injury and Situation

Jayden Daniels, who enjoyed one of the greatest rookie campaigns of all time the previous year, suffered a displaced left elbow in the Sunday defeat to the Seattle Seahawks. Even though Daniels passes with his right arm, the injury has left his campaign in doubt. The condition was significant enough that the TV coverage did not show replays and multiple players turned away as he was treated by team doctors.

Criticism and Coach’s Response

Quinn came under scrutiny as numerous felt Daniels should not have been on the playing surface to begin with. The injury happened in the final period with the Washington trailing 38-7, rendering a recovery unlikely. It is common in these situations for clubs to put in their reserve QB to avoid injuries to their first-string player.

“I get that. I’ve been reflecting about it constantly, too, and, man, I missed it,” he remarked of his choice to leave Daniels in the game. “This is 100% my fault.”

Aftermath and Squad Prospects

Mariota will be the Commanders’ primary QB from now on, but he will guide a roster in disarray. After making the conference title game the prior year thanks to Daniels’s excellence, the franchise have struggled this season. They also saw injuries to cornerback Lattimore (torn ACL) and pass-catcher Luke McCaffrey (collarbone fracture) on game day, and have a host of other starters on the injury list. The Washington squad are 3-6 so far, and it would take a huge turnaround for the team to reach the postseason.
